Lower Lip Retraction Technique Using a Microbrush
1. Insert ISORETRACT
Place ISORETRACT into the patient’s mouth as you would for standard isolation.
2. Position the Tongue Housing
Insert the tongue housing and ensure it is positioned as distal to the last molar as possible to achieve ideal isolation and full visibility.
3. Prepare the Microbrush
Take a microbrush and position it between the lower lip and the curved contour of the mouth retractor.
4. Roll the Lip Around the Microbrush
Allow the patient’s lower lip to gently roll around the microbrush as it rests between the lip and the retractor.
5. Retract the Lower Lip
Gently pull the lip outward and away from the mouth retractor. This maneuver draws the lower frenum downward and improves access to the gingival margin.
6. Adjust as Needed
Make small adjustments to the microbrush position to achieve optimal soft-tissue retraction and gingival visibility.
